Anaga Coastal & Rainforest Ride

The Anaga Rural Park is Tenerife's wildest corner, with ancient laurisilva (laurel) rainforest that has barely changed in millions of years, hairpin coastal roads carved into the cliffs, and fishing villages that feel a world away from the resorts down south. This half-day ride winds through the mist-shrouded forest canopy before dropping down to the coast at Taganana, one of the island's oldest and most remote settlements. Bring a jacket, because it is noticeably cooler up in the forest than it is on the coast.

The Route

1. Meet at Costa Adeje for a safety briefing and gear fitting
2. Ride north to La Laguna, the island's historic old university city
3. Climb into the Anaga Rural Park, through ancient laurisilva rainforest and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
4. Wind along the cliff-edge ridge roads with sea views on both sides
5. Stop in the fishing village of Taganana for a break and photos
6. Return via the same scenic route, arriving back early afternoon
